Sorry for the lack of information over the past month, but as Revolver already explained (http://vu.vrocker-hosting.co.uk/index.php?topic=5339.0), we could not have anticipated the widespread inactivity we dealt with over the past month. With that being said, we have new information to announce.



Event Date and Time
"Admin, when Vice War is happen?"

This being a question people have been wondering since Vice War was announced, we're glad to finally have an answer for you guys.

Vice War will be held starting on Saturday, August 23 at 12:01am GMT and ending on Sunday, August 24 at 12:01am GMT.



Gamemode and Hosting

Due to administrative and public interest, Vice War 4 will be hosted on the VC:MP 0.4 beta on maxorator's beta box. 0.4 has reached a point where it is more stable for an event of this scale than 0.3, and we believe it will generate considerable community interest in 0.4.

However, this is not a public beta. As such, features will not be added for the purpose of showing off; the core gameplay is exactly the same as it was in 0.3. This also provides an opportunity for players to focus specifically on improving their combat skills with 0.4's improved sync.

If you have not already, download the beta client:

Your browser will automatically download and install the appropriate client version upon joining the game server if you do not already have it.

Bases

Base #1
Vice Point Hotel Pool

Provides free healing at this base and its immediate vicinity only.

Base #2
Vice Point Basketball Court

Provides a Top Fun for teleportation. Each time the Top Fun van explodes, the cost of entering increases. Using the /tele command, players on the team owning this base can teleport wherever the van is, provided they stand still for five seconds and there is a driver inside the van.

Base #3
Washington Beach Construction Site, East

Provides the ability to see all players on the map, teammates and enemies.

Base #4
Washington Beach Hotel Pool

Provides the Sea Sparrow. The cost of entering the Sea Sparrow increases every time it explodes.

Base #5
VCPD Alleyway

Provides a lump sum of money every 30 minutes depending on how many players are spawned and a random multiplier.

Base #6
Ocean Beach Apartment Courtyard

Provides a 25% discount on weapons.



Registrations

Registrations have been fully processed now, and any players who applied who did not receive a response should now have keys and be placed in the proper groups should they be accepted.

Registrations are still open and will remain open until the event closes.

What about weapon system? We can buy any weapon at any place? Are prices remain the same?

Weapons can be obtained immediately anywhere at any time. All weapons are free except the following (excluding 25% discounts if applicable):

M4: $150
M60: $200
Spaz: $350
Chainsaw: $350
Molotov: $400
Grenade: $400
Flamethrower: $400
Remote Detonation Grenades: $450
Laserscope: $500
Rocket Launcher: $600

All weapons provide 20,000 ammo except the following:

Remote Detonation Grenades: 12 ammo
Grenade: 12 ammo
Molotov: 15 ammo
Rocket Launcher: 15 ammo

Miniguns will not be returning.

The main reason for this is because we could not aim for this weekend due to the lack of notice. If there is significant public interest in doing so very soon, the event may be moved to this Saturday, August 16.
We can make a poll?

The event has diplomacy for a reason. If you cannot get other teams to join yours then you're the one to blame.

Stop whining about it, last time blue's were at a player disadvantage and won with over 1000 points.

If I had a say in it, I would love to put a few clans and players to the Red team. But hey, no influence.

So I guess it will remain the way it is.

Same story, same answer.

This is pathetic, for some stupid reason the red team always cries or complains about it, last year was the same drama and they got it, but the result was the same, they were crushed by blue team with a great ease and great advantage. Ironically, the clans forming the red team are always the same -> just lol.

Just play in an orderly and good way to avoid to be thinking about this sort of things. Now, if you are not able to form a good team with good ideas... blame your team.

Deal with it and play with the players that red team has, of course, if you still feel able to do it without tears and lamentations to the VW Managers.

Regarding the organisation, if you do the event tomorrow, I am sure you won't get as much contestants as when you do it next week.

I want to repeat myself again,I just asked ,I didn't do anything else.I want to make you a simple example :
Two soccer teams have to do a match,the first one has 11 players and the second one has 15,do you think the result would be the same if both the teams would have the same and equal players?You just don't accept a team balancing just because you are too obsessed to win,you forget totally this is a game and the most important thing over here should be the fun.

You claim it's only a game and it's about fun, what's fun in forcing players to play on a side they do not want to play?

Players decide the team they are in and VW Administration WILL NOT force players to play for a team they did not apply for.

End of discussion.

Actually reds are in good position.
First of all it isn't possible to make 89 vs 65. Server has only 100 slots. You can coordinate with your red team and take 65/100 slots and fight against 35 blues (in this case). It's just matter of coordination to get number supriority.
Secondary, blues have a lot of mobile frags like OSK clan members and others. I don't think they will manage to achieve ratio higher than 1 or do proper teamwork. So I consider them as cannon fodder and score delivers for reds.
Third, the key to win in team deathmatch is in being more powerfull (by tactic/skills/strength) than enemy's team in certain place and time.
Four, in case you loose you can complain about being outnumbered and claim your defeat as unfair.

So, Detonator, you have to turn on your brain, tactical and commandership skills.

If you want to make some clans move to your team (what I actually support), do have a talk with the clan-leaders of a clan you want to have on your side (if not present atm, with those who're responsible for a clan). If they agree on this, PM me, I'll make some changes.
