Help! Low FPS for smoke!
« on: July 03, 2021, 01:40:15 pm »
Hello! I have a problem with Vice City and it is that it generally runs very smoothly, very well, but when a helicopter arrives the fps drops a lot due to the smoke.

Do you have a solution? Thanks in advance

Try this file, I edited it to remove the helicopter dust when taking off or landing. It should help

edit: file removed, as it's broken

Place it in the data folder

particle.cfg

Place it in the data folder

Are these two suppose to be different?

Sorry, misunderstood :P

I see, it didn't crash for me but I found some funky effects, I think commenting out the line as I did just messes up the file. In that case I uploaded the original file and whoever downloaded my file should replace it back, regardless whether it crashes or not.

Oiginal file: particle.cfg backup

So there is no way to remove the smoke effects? :, (

Yes there is, however I don't remember how to do it myself. I'm sure fiddling around with particle.cfg values can neutralise the effect, I don't have time to test and trial that in this moment. Perhaps someone who has a fix at hand will help you

OK thanks same. So you say that I can lower the amount of smoke effects in the particle.cfg? I could try
