Title: Movies today...
Post by: Shadow on September 04, 2013, 10:45:45 pm
For the past month I started watching movies more often and it became a habit..

I've been watching over 15 different channels and lot of movies and I came to a conclusion myself...

Movies nowadays are full of sexual scenes, and I don't mean the 15+ or 18+ movies, I mean the 12+ or AP. You might say 'what's your goddamn problem, you are 18, you are allowed to watch, etc...'.

Well, my problem is: If one of my kids would happen to see such a movie in which you can see a guy behind a girl and you can hear moans and all the stuff, my kids would ask me what that is. What would I answer ? Two camels riding eachother off to New Delhi in the vision of today's studios ?

Discuss.

When your kids are born, keep them away from TVs and when they reach 15+ years, show them what TV is. :P

Yes, i agree with you. Most of the movies nowadays have sexual content which isn't good for kids. Majority of the movies which are released nowadays has something like this. In today's world, you can't keep kids away from such things. You'll lock the channels, they still have internet. They have the option to watch the same on mobile phones. In today's world, it depends on the individual itself to choose what kind of person he wants to become. This is where the parents have to act responsibly and wisely to make their kids understand what is right & wrong. Although most of the parents do, but still this circle ends on the kid itself, whether he wants to view such content or he intends to obey his parents.

You can't stop such movies, although you can make your kids understand to stay away from such things.

And what will happen to them if they just see tits? What really? Will they get any shock or psychological trauma? I don't see here anything special. And as far as i know, porn isn't allowed on TV, only erotica, so "holes" there won't be shown. Anyway the best way to protect them from porn is a turning off internet, when you're out of home.

You can't stop such movies, although you can make your kids understand to stay away from such things.

If you straightly just say them not to watch a such films, their interest to this will be only doubled.

This is not the main problem, better watch your kids not to smoke something or drink in their childish years, that's the main problem you have to take care of.

Educate your kids to be good, friendly and smart (in order to them not to do anything, what's out the law), some day they anyway will find out, where they were born from. xD

Please, not the 'THINK OF THE CHILDREN' attitude. A child's brains are not going to explode if they see a softcore sex scene in a movie and nor are they going to be scared for life. They would probably end up a bit confused, but that's what education is all about. I'm not saying children should be exposed to this kind of entertainment, but they won't end up 'corrupted' if they do.

I remember when I was 6 years old in kindergarten. Everyone knew the magic formula: 'boy + girl + love = baby', and everyone roughly knew what sex was about, because information would constantly leak from parents, media and other kids. The thing is, children are not programmed to be interested in this stuff until they reach the age of puberty which is around 12-14 years old and existence of knowledge of sex won't trigger them to do it earlier.

However, something that could harm a child's psyche is a high amount of violence and horror in a movie, or at least give them a ton of nightmares. So you should probably avoid watching Saw in front of other kids.

Keeping them away from TV, locking channels or any of that stuff ain't an option. What you can do, however, is parent them properly.

Naturally, when a parent brings up a topic regarding sex, the kid will get very akward. So that can keep the kid away from that stuff.

But the best thing, imo, is the parent to parent their children properly.
