i just experienced how by a single shotgun shot ( which is supposed to damage 73 hp at max) killed a guy by one hit, seems like you're too stubborn about removing bugs and glitches stormeus

???

like removing ghost shooting which was a pure VC:MP essence not a bug(for old school players from 2006-2010), essence this aint Vice City Rockstar Official Multiplayer mod this is an Unofficial mod, stop pretending to make it look like if it was an official mod.

Ghost shots and slide glitching were causing issues with combat when playing with people with high pings and would sometimes cause shots that were fired to not appear for others at all. I prioritized fixing combat inconsistencies, sorry for your loss.

however you allow these m4 whores to use all they want to increase their m4 aim and when you re asked for it you say servers could easily disable headshooting, stop capping close fighters and find a cure for all these m4 whoring instead of saying just disable it

So do you want me to break headshots everywhere R2 style or give sliding users a speed boost so they can try to fight a long range weapon with a chainsaw? You're making no sense.

you can ban me from VC:MP if you feel to

No, I literally can't. That's not how any of this works.

The real news is that I'm the 10th spammiest person on this forum. How did that happen?
People took over and stuff happened  :police:

I'm more surprised that I'm spammy enough to get there in the first place :p

Tricking young boys into sharing pictures of themselves on the internet, taking the pictures and uploading them yourself so that their owners don't have the power to remove them, and then sharing them in order to make fun of them, is perverse.

Some members have brought up the fact that they aren't all too familiar with you. Others have brought up the question of your reputability due to your participation in a DDoS campaign a couple of years ago and rumors about hacking in-game.

Whether or not those rumors are true is unclear. Regardless, it'd appear that the main issue is that most people in this clan aren't familiar enough with you to feel comfortable with giving you a positive vote at this time. As such, meet more VUs.

As of this post the poll is 8 trainee, 18 deny. Voting is now closed and this application is denied.

These were the closing remarks we left on your last application. What exactly have you done since then to improve your standing with our members?

Everyone knows I've written an aimbot and I'll tell you right now that no actual aimbot would be programmed this idiotically. What would the progress bar even be for? Calculating head positions?

The vote is currently 3 trainee, 16 deny, so I'm closing this application.

if you would be kind to make a list of questions simpler and in list, i would be thankful.

I think we can reduce it to a single bullet point.

i just need to prove myself to vc:mp community that i'm worth it and make VU proud.

Joining VU isn't your proof of redemption. It's a team of people who play together and are friends with each other. Since your last application I'm not sure you've actually tried to make yourself more familiar to people who don't know you that well. Meanwhile, your application now seems to be very self-centered without telling us what you would offer other than loyalty, which is essentially another way of saying you want to join badly.

You say that you're not that active, which won't really cut it if you're trying to convince people to let you join. Even if you're not playing, you should be contributing somehow to the community by judging or participating in events, or offering your help with scripting.

MaDKilleR's critiques are still valid.

Denied.

Your last application was voted down 11-15. Can you describe what steps you've taken since then to persuade people voting negatively to let you join now?

Script Showroom / Measuring ping jitter in Squirrel
« on: August 16, 2016, 08:47:39 pm »
This is a small snippet I wrote for the VCDC server which would measure a player's latency jitter. Pingtest.net defines jitter as:
Quote
the variance in measuring successive ping tests. Zero jitter means the results were exactly the same every time, and anything above zero is the amount by which they varied.

Which makes it a decent measure of the instability of a player's connection. In VCDC, a player would be kicked not only due to high ping, but also due to a high jitter and consistently unstable connection that could cause warping.

The code below calculates the standard deviation of an array of ping measurements to find jitter.

Code: (Jitter calculation functions) [Select]
function CalculateAvg(arr) {
    local sum = 0, count = 0;
    foreach(entry in arr) {
        sum += entry;
        count++;
    }

    return sum.tofloat() / count.tofloat();
}

function CalculateVariance(arr) {
    local avg = CalculateAvg(arr);
    local sum = 0, count = 0;

    foreach (entry in arr) {
        sum += pow(entry - avg, 2);
        count++;
    }

    return sum.tofloat() / count.tofloat();
}

function CalculateJitter(arr) {
    return sqrt(CalculateVariance(arr));
}

Test cases
Code: [Select]
sq>print(CalculateJitter([250, 280, 230, 240, 250, 290, 240, 310, 230, 250]));
25.7099

sq>print(CalculateJitter([10, 10, 15, 10, 10, 12, 10, 9, 10, 10]));
1.62481

sq>print(CalculateJitter([80, 80, 80, 350, 360, 320, 330, 167, 95, 80]));
121.974

sq>print(CalculateJitter([5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45]));
12.9099

Once I move back into NYC in early September I could manage this. In the meantime, enjoy this photograph of a bottle of Crystal Pepsi I took.

Vote is 1 trainee, 11 deny. It seems fairly obvious where this application is headed, so I'm closing it. To summarize the notes on your application that have been made:
  • Introducing yourself isn't sufficient. We need to be more familiar with who you are, and you should be playing with us more.
  • We're not too impressed with the comments you made about joining. You should go into more detail about how you think you've improved rather than just telling us that you did. This makes it easier to measure how you've improved, and allows us to give better feedback on your application.
