Questions about the gamemode

I'm asking these questions because I'm curious but if it's going to be a spoiler than feel free to not reply to some particular questions.

1. Are we going to have multiple spawn points or is it going to be a fixed spawn for each team?

2. In regards to the vehicles, what do we intend with default spawn location?
2b. Are vehicles going to spawn automatically after purchase or will they be summoned by the player?
2c. Are the vehicles limited to one per team or is there any limit in regards to how many can be spawned at once?
2d. Can vehicles be accessed by anybody outside of the player who spawned it, or even by enemy players?
2e. How many seats is each vehicle mentioned going to have? (spoiler?)

3. Do we have an option to pass cash to another teammate?

  • It is going to be a fixed spawn for each team

  • Attack vehicles and helicopters spawned right in the heart of a fight is unfair and threatens the balance of gameplay, as these vehicles are OP in their own right. In order to combat this, these specific vehicles can only be purchased and spawned when you are at your default spawn location. You must then drive your vehicle to the zone you wish to use it. This gives a balanced opportunity for the enemy to deal some damage as it traverses to its destination.

    • They are spawned automatically after purchase.

    • There is no limit whatsoever to how many vehicles can be spawned per team.

    • All vehicles can be accessed by any player should they get the opportunity.

    • Yet to be tested and decided for the applicable vehicles (Bus, Carrier Helicopter), however, we aim for the max possible count attainable in VC:MP scripting. If that number is vast, then no more than 10 players.

  • Cash will be able to be passed to teammates. Resource points are personal and will not have such option.

1- Is it a map made of custom objects or composed of Vice city objects?
2- the special vehicles are custom or just use models from Vice city (airtrain-skimmer...)?
3- is the map composed of islands connected with a bridge ( callahan bridge would be cool ) or it is just a compact portion of land?
4- the custom map is urban, rural or both?
5- how big is the custom map? Bigger than vice?

1. The map will be made with a mixture of both custom objects and Vice City objects.

2. Some vehicles will be custom-made (if I have the time) but mostly models from Vice City will be used.

3. More on the compact portion of land side. There will be minor rivers here and there, and I may put in at least one major river that splits the land, but overall it's going to be one landmass.

4. The custom map is predominantly rural, jungle life and vegetation, huts and zinc houses at settlements. The only urbanized zones would be the 3 bases.

5. The map is aimed to be as big as Downtown Vice City in it's entirety.

this is more like a battle royale game mode ???
anyways I am so hyped for the event.
Another question: Can we access bases from inside? (like half life themed marines black mesa HQ :P )
     
2- I'm afraid textures of the custom objects would not be properly rendered thus making it look like converted SA and CS ead maps, will be gta3 engine characteristics applied to these objects? (Sorry if I didn't properly express my point because I'm not an expert)

All bases are interiorly designed. They are governed under 3 conditions:

  • Must be roomy (Escobar International Airport type spacious)
  • Must have a tricky, dynamic layout inside (Vercetti Mansion tricky as a minimum)
  • Must have clever ways of entry (so as to not have pinned main entrances, and to make the clever-minded find useful ways to for say pushing a Skimmer inside  ;), at their own risk however)

What's missing in EAD maps for example is 2DFX for the lighting of the object. The sun in VC as far as I can see only affects vehicles, doesn't really do much to the world's objects, which is why most custom objects look flat and dull and even dark sometimes. 2DFX for the lighting of the object must be applied to fix this.

A question, what if a clan registred for a team let's say Blue, but others prefers to play on Red?

That would be an internal dispute for the member and his/her clan to resolve, but in terms of Vice War, there are no set restrictions about this. Clans can choose to pick their side of allegiance and the individual members within the clan can choose to register with or against such allegiance if they so desire.



Since the format is a little different this year, a clan leader or clan representative can announce their allegiance by creating a new topic in the Diplomacy and Registrations board (once it's back open to the public). Only the long posting of names will be absent, however teams will be visible to the public in the Teams tab of the Portal. Only fully verified and accepted participants will show in that list.
