Resource Points

In this edition of Vice War, there is a new addition for the funding of various resources in the game. We call this Resource Points that will be displayed in the GUI of your game in the manner shown:

Subject to change.

These resource points are acquired through playtime. They are strictly personal and cannot be shared among your teammates. The maximum count that can be acquired by each person is 500 points.

At the start of Vice War, each player is given 50 points by default and for every minute in-game you play, 10 points are added to each category of Resource Points. This rate can be sped up with the capturing of bases, spoken later in this post.

What are these categories? And how are Resource Points used?

     Infantry Points
  • Used in the acquirement of specific personal carrying equipment namely:
    • Grenades (normal and remote grenades)
    • Molotovs
    • Ammo crates
    • Medical kits

  • You cannot buy the items listed with cash earned during the event.

  • You can carry as many as you desire (and they can be stacked upon) except for ammo crates and medical kits. Limit is 5.

    • You can only carry and stack up on one type for its given weapon slot. Ammo crates and medical kits share the same slot that is scripted. You cannot carry both items at the same time. Ammo crates and medical kits do not affect grenade/mol weapon slot.

    • Each ammo crate restores 100 ammo to all your cash/free weapons currently in your arsenal at the time of use. Ammo crates do not affect Resource Point weapons. Ammo crates can also be shared by using the /drop command. A pickup will be generated of the ammo crate once done, and your teammates can pick it up if needed. This pickup is also available to the enemy so be careful how you use it.

    • Each medical kit restores 50 HP. Like ammo crates, you can share your medical kits among your teammates by utilizing the /drop command. A pickup will be generated of the medical kit that can be used by anyone i.e. either teammate or enemy.

  • You cannot buy the items listed with cash earned during the event.

  • You cannot buy the items listed with cash earned during the event.

  • The carrier helicopter is a special heavy armoured helicopter that can be used to carry your teammates to the battlefield. It can only be spawned at your default spawn location.

  • The attack helicopter (Sea Sparrow) and Bomber Plane can only be spawned at your default spawn location.

  • There are no limitations where it regards who can spawn an attack helicopter, i.e. anyone under the ping limit and ping jitter limit are free to use the vehicle.

Bases

There are 3 bases to attack and control on the new map, each with their own unique perks based on the type of base. Stated earlier, the bases can affect the rate of recharging of your Resource Points. They all affect each category differently from one another by adding to the rate constant, and so a team can prioritize which base matters more to him depending on their attack style. Recall that the default rate for Resource Points 10 points per minute.

Each base also comes with its own unique Capture Points necessary for a team to actually win Vice War.

Base 1 - Aviation Plant
  • Capture Points - 2
  • +5
  • +3
  • +12

Base 2 - Armoury
  • Capture Points - 12
  • +13
  • +5
  • +2

Base 3 - Auto Plant
  • Capture Points - 6
  • +2
  • +12
  • +6

If all 3 bases are captured, a maximum of 20 Capture Points and 30 Resource Points per minute (for all categories) can be achieved for a team.

Team Points

This outlines all the points that add to your team's points to win Vice War. The team which earns most points in 24 hours wins. Points are earned by:
  • Killing: Each kill gives 1 point.
  • Surviving: Each death grants a point to your killer's team.
  • Bases: Each base varies in Capture Points, check above in Bases for details. Up to 20 points per minute if all bases captured by a single team
  • Sprees: Killing sprees give points equal to spree multiplier (5 Spree gives +5 points, 10 spree gives +10 points).

Money

Weapons and health can be bought spending money. Money is earned by:
  • Killing: Each kill gives $100.
  • Surviving: Each death deducts -$20.
  • Bases: Each captured base generates $300 per minute, distributed among all online gang members equally.
  • Sprees: Killing sprees give money equal to spree multiplier (5 Spree gives +$500, 10 spree gives +$1000).

Cash/Free Weapons

  • Weapons not covered under Resource Points can be purchased by /wep command.
  • Players can also set free weapons as spawn weapons(/spawnwep), so they receive them on every spawn.
  • When a player dies with a weapon, he/she will respawn with the leftover ammo of that weapon. That means, you will keep your weapons even if you die or quit the server until you completely run out of it's ammo. This also applies to weapons acquired by Resource Points.

  • Weapon Prices

    Chainsaw - 1(lost on death)100$
    Ruger - 200 ammo400$
    M4 - 200 ammo500$
    M60 - 200 ammo500$

    Sniper Rifle - 100 ammo2500$
    Laserscope Sniper - 200 ammo4000$

  • All other weapons are free of cost, except Minigun which is disabled.

UPDATE:

While walking through the bushes, you may be notified of Restricted Area Warnings, shown under the minimap like this for example:

Near Restricted Area- you are within 400 m of an enemy base.
Restricted Area- you are within 300 m of an enemy base

These warnings are there to indicate when you will be placed under weapon and vehicle restrictions. Orange means you're getting too close. Weapons and vehicles are not restricted at this zone. Sea Sparrow pilots will experience a dimming of the screen.

When the notifier turns red, you will see that you were in a restricted area, upon which, the following will happen:
  • Sea Sparrows will immediately be destroyed
  • Bombs from Bomber Planes will be deactivated until you leave the zone
  • Snipers, RPG, grenades and molotovs are all disabled until you leave the zone

This is to prevent absolute massacre at spawn bases.

An altimeter is added to all flying vehicles able to be given in the event. Its purpose is simply to indicate your altitude as you fly across the map. It is the bar with the white line across it beside the minimap as shown here:

The bar changes colour for different altitudes, and the line moves along the bar for finer estimation of your altitude.

Bar's Colour Key:
  • Off-White - 0 to 100 m
  • Blue - 101 to 200 m
  • Green - 201 to 300 m
  • Red - 300 m to 500 m+

So by the example in the pic, the altitude of the player is roughly 160 m above sea level. The altimeter is currently calibrated to 500 m should you max it out.

UPDATE:

We've implemented a bug report ticket system where you may report map bugs or server bugs to us for fixing. You may use /reportbug to alert us of any issues you may find on the Map Preview Server or the Main Server.

This service is not implemented into the Benchmark Server.

We automatically collect the player's position at the moment you have successfully sent your report. This is especially useful for map bugs. Therefore, if you are reporting such, describe thoroughly the issue and we'll look around your general vicinity either immediately if available, or at a later time.

PLEASE DO NOT MIX /REPORTBUG FOR /REPORT

UPDATE:

Base 1 is now considered to be an Airport.
Base 2 is now considered to be a Cargo Ship.
Base 3 is now considered to be a Mining Plant.

Base 1 will have the same distribution of team capture points and resource points allotted to the team that has successfully captured this checkpoint.

Base 2 and Base 3 have splits:

  • Base 2
    • Ship Deck
    • Ship Hull
  • Base 3
    • Building 1
    • Building 2

The distribution of points are made practically evenly among these base splits. Therefore, Base 2 and Base 3, once totally captured, will allot a team the same amount of points as originally set.

New Point Scheme:

Base 2 - Ship Deck
  • Capture Points - 6
  • +6
  • +3
  • +1

Base 2 - Ship Hull
  • Capture Points - 6
  • +7
  • +2
  • +1

Base 3 - Building 1
  • Capture Points - 3
  • +1
  • +6
  • +3

Base 3 - Building 2
  • Capture Points - 3
  • +1
  • +6
  • +3

Normal helicopters are now locked to be spawned only at your spawn base.

There are now also select regions within your spawn base that you must stand at in order to spawn your required aircraft. For helicopters, you must stand on the provided Helipad, for Bomber Planes, you must stand within the large Hangar at your spawn base.

A queuing system is also implemented where spawn bases can only spawn 3 Bomber Planes and/or Helicopters at any given time. In order to spawn more, simply clear the spawn area of the aircraft to create an empty slot.

Added a new height level to altimeter. It is now calibrated to a max of 1000 m. After the 500 m point, the bar will become Dark Red.
