Bruh did I miss anything ?Duuuude, have you been living under a rock? HL:Alyx is amazing! It's a prequel for HL2, with some revelations at the end - I won't spoil much after that.
something interesting that Newell said in an interview. We simply didn't have the technology available at the time to make the game we wanted Half Life to be.From some interviews with some current and ex-Valve employees, their "business philosophy" was that each employee chose which project they worked on, and are, somewhat, free to start their own. As you can tell, this has its pros and cons. The initial team of HL2:ep3 development was always changing scopes, projects & interests faded, so lots of man-power was lost at that time to actually finish the game. And since a lot of other original titles were being developed (Portal, TF2, L4D, L4D2, Portal 2, DoTA2), the development simply didn't happen. Eventually a lot of time passed and indepentent teams within Valve started prototyping their own version of the game, but it never actually flourished... Artifact was actually developed with this practice - apparently there are loads of developers there that enjoyed card games at the time.
we might actually see a sequel at some point in time.Hehehehehe, you haven't seen the after credits of HL:Alyx have you? Won't spoil, but you might be happy
You can't call them cunts. They made half-life and they are free if they whether want to finish it or not. I am sure they have reasons for ep3 delay.I can if that's what they are now... Remember they tried to sell mods alongside Bethesda. They announced a game that literally no one asked for.
which also won't happen because a salty ex employee posted the entire script for the game online after being sacked.Erm, afaik Marc Laidlaw left, he was not sacked... Sources for this? He retired from Valve due to being old (which is bs tbh) and personal issues within the company. He was not just a salty employee, he was responsible for pretty much all of Half-Life's story... He didn't release the plotline right after he left, he waited until Valve HL2:ep3's NDA expired, which lasted a period of around 10 years.
You see, black mesa is an indication. What do you mean with indication?
It is clear that black mesa is based on a new engine that we have not seen before in any of the half life games. A story writer, a new source engine, it's only the matter of time we see a new game. *Hope* is a strong word m8
Well maybe you are correct but then why do they need to hire a story writer then ?Most games, even if they are very simple in terms of lore, require a writer. Specially in games developed by big companies like Valve.
Valve is having competition, so to get back to be the king of gaming it needs to produce games again. Don't forget that GabeN said in one of his interviews that the portal/halflife universe is not over yet and there is a future game set within that universe.Competition? The king of gaming? Lol, they own the most profitable digital game platform in the world. They don't need to make games to earn money or any fancy title. They are dominating the industry with Steam, and they don't even need to make games to promote it anymore. Money always speaks higher in cases like this. It's sad, but it's true.
