Which are the matches you most want to see in Round 1 of the finals?

Personally I think Morph vs Vet is gonna be great. It's hard to predict who will win that one - I think it depends who has been more active in the week leading up to their fight.

I'd also like to see aXXo vs Amal. Two pros. Again, it's too close to call for me. If I had to put money on it I would say 10-9 to aXXo.

Matrix and Alarba I'd like to see. I'm guessing 10-7 to Matrix on that one.

And finally I think RoyMustang vs MarK will be interesting.

For any music lover, this and FKJ's other two studio videos will be incredibly satisfying to watch. The dude and his collaborators are real talents.

I'm going to keep this short.

It has come to our attention that some members of the community are unhappy with the way we are administrating this forum.

We encourage the community to post here, and we are much more lenient about where and what people can post than most forums. We respect free speech, and the right of everyone to have a voice. However, there are limits.

We will not allow this forum to become a place where people do not feel welcome because of disgusting, abusive language directed against them predicated on their gender, race, religion, skin colour, sexuality or background.

If anyone has a problem with this, we invite you to say so here and give your reasons. We respect honest, open and intelligent discussion, we do not respect random abuse in the shoutbox. If you want something to change, then give us a good reason to change.

So far we have restrained from implementing hard rules, but this is now under discussion in our private boards in light of recent posting trends.

Finally, a question to those who are currently expressing outrage: do you think we enjoy banning people, editing posts and handing out warnings? The answer is no, we do not. We dislike having to take time from our days to mete out punitive action, and we dislike reading logs of where we are abused because of it. We try to respect and empathise with you, and we ask the same in return.

We have reached 2,000 forum members!



Just want to say thank you to everyone for making this such a vibrant community hub. I remember in 2009 I would look at our forum (then a different address) and be super excited when I'd seen that 5 users had logged in that day. And if there were more than 3 people online at once I would count it as a victory. Now we have more than 100 users logging in every day, we almost constantly have around 100 people viewing the website at any one time, and there is a constant stream of new posts.

So from VU, thank you everybody. We are all keeping this community alive, 8 and a half years after it began.

The next milestone will be 100,000 posts - we don't have long to go.

So I just had a very enjoyable hour on the VKs server, where I teamed with Zatch and Signal near the Washington Beach police station (thanks Zatch and Signal). The ability to turn your radar off changes the experience a lot, it's fun. Every time I go to that server there's a good fight in that area actually.

Anyway, as we were fighting, I noticed that frequently I'd be close-combatting someone, and either Zatch of Signal would either just watch or would run away, not give me cover fire. I asked them why, and they said that some of the people I was fighting were clanmates, and some were friends.

This is a debate that's been had occasionally since I started VC:MP - is this okay? I said to Zatch and Signal that friends don't matter in DM - if they're not on your team, you should kill them. I stand by this opinion. In my view, if friends or clanmates don't want you to kill them, then they should join your team. To me, there's little point in even being in a clan if you play on separate teams.

However, I do understand Zatch and Signal's view, and I can see that their friends might be pissed off or upset if they killed them. Is that their friends' problem, or theirs?

If you are on a team, and you see someone is fighting one of your teammates, but then you see it's a friend of yours, do you shoot?

Does anyone know stuff about using UTM codes to track website traffic?

I'm managing the marketing for an arts-tech startup, and I'm looking to implement it, but the development team are working part-time in San Francisco so I need to be absolutely clear about what I want, it will be difficult to have a conversation with them.

I have a few questions; perhaps it's better if I lay them out in the format of an example.

Let's say I have a site called www.cake.com

I've hooked up Google Analytics to my website, and I've inserted the listening code into the header of every page.

I've decided that I want to run two campaigns from Twitter, one that talks about white cakes directing to the homepage,
and one that talks about brown cakes.

I've generated the following URLs:
www.cake.com?utm_source=Twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=white
www.cake.com?utm_source=Twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=brown

So when I go to my analytics page, I should be able to see which campaign drove more traffic to my website, white or brown.

Here are some questions:

1) Will Google Analytics track any UTM code, or does it need to be told which codes to look for? If it tracks any code, does that mean people could make their own UTM codes, and it would show up in my analytics? Could that be used to spam an analytics page? For example, if someone were to click 100 times on www.cake.com?utm_source=Twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=fuck-you would 'fuck-you' come up 100 times in my analytics?

2) As I've inserted the listening code into the header of every page, will Google Analytics therefore track any new UTM codes I use, on any page? For example if one of my pages is www.cakes.com/yay if I then share the following URL:

www.cake.com/yay?utm_source=Twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=brown

Would these items be tracked automatically? Or does something else need to be done on the back-end.

I guess actually all of these questions can be answered with the same answer. I've had a search around on the internet and I'm 80% sure of the answer, but I wanted to check with someone who knows for sure, and I couldn't be assed to set up a website just to test it.
