King of the Hill(KotH) is a brand new server coming up in VCMP. The game mode is a round based team deathmatch, similar to EAD, CTF, RTV, TDW etc. We have been brainstorming and developing this game mode since a long time and finally are prepared for a public release. I hope you all enjoy the grand opening and use the platform for lasting VCMP memories, fun moments and intense competitive matches.

Game mode Features

Two teams compete for the control of a zone(The Hill). The players have to capture the zone and eliminate the enemy team's presence to gain points. The team which reaches the score limit first wins.

Interactive Zone

The Zone is an area marked by a distinct border.

The two teams fight for the control of this area.

The server has a unique GPS Pin which shows the location, distance, status and capture progress at all times.

This ensures that any newbies would not feel lost on the map and have a clear sight of the objective.
Fast Paced Tactical Combat

The zone is an area which allows players to capture it in full combat.

There is no requirement to press any buttons or stand still to capture the objective.

The winning objective is very easy to understand and encourages players to focus on death matching.

Players have unlimited lives and respawn on death.
Simple Weapon Classes
The server has 4 weapon classes with no limits, balanced to give an edge in each situation.
They all have some specialization and counter each other.

Each class has a bonus weapon which is granted on reaching a killing spree of 3.

Ranger: M4, Stubby, Laserscope Sniper(bonus)
Heavy: M60, Stubby, Molotovs(bonus)
CQB: Spaz, Chainsaw, Flamethrower(bonus)
Demolition: Grenades, Shotgun, RPG(bonus)

SMGs and Handguns are free to pick.
Variety of Bases
The server has 30+ bases and we are constantly adding more.
We have a huge variety of bases offering unique game play.

There are bases balanced for 1v1, 2v2, 5v5, 20v20 and the script ensures that they are played according to the player count.

The game mode offers plenty of competitive bases for 5v5 official matches. Also a lot of bases to chill and have fun.
You can expect Hunter Dogfights, Speed boat action, Drive-by Derby, Heliblade fests and generic TDM fun.
Achievements
The server is loaded with statistics that are accurately tracked and can be viewed on our web panel.

Players are awarded with special medals and badges for feats and the MVPs are given commendations that they can showcase to the rest.

Earning these achievements gains you XP that is used to level up your account.

Taunts

We also have several Taunts options, that you can personalize.

There is a variety of taunting sounds that you can select.
They would auto-play when you dominate an enemy with a killing spree.

Our Team:

Luckshya has been scripting the mode in Java(Kotlin). The project has died and reborn several times with different coding platforms, but Luckshya has been the ever industrious doing all the hard work.

GangstaRas is the man behind innovating the game mode, fine tuning all the details and crafting all the GUI in the server. I guarantee our GUI is the most innovative thing that has ever surfaced in VCMP. Potato PCs beware!

aXXo has been poking his nose into every server detail.

Special thanks to PunkNoodle, Lederhos, Klaus, EazyM4, RoyStang for advising, critiquing, testing, mapping and base designing.

It's not about i don't like spitfire. He always created, distributed and used cheats for which he was repeatedly banned. Of course, any server owner can accept his or another hacker's development assistance. But don't let him play with others! Elk unbanned him back in the days of RTV, for receiving some hacks from him. Most people who have used cheats continue to be banned, but for someone there are exceptions.
It's like a serial killer who was released from prison because he helped build a house for the owner of the prison. There can be no exception for anyone. If spitfire wants to help develop a server - fine, but he doesn't deserve to play with regular players.
Fair enough.
Use his work, give him credits, then ban him  >:D

Your point of view is very illogical.
A bad past does not prevent someone from doing a good deed.

Spitfire/Analizator have good technical knowledge of GTAVC(most hackers do). They have expertise which is very useful for server developers. Making a server is a difficult job which requires intelligence and effort. They are doing a free service for YOU! All they get in return is a useless mapper rank and a fancy tag in the credits.

I don't care who helps with the server as long as their work is good. Even if Kewun releases a piece of code which is useful, I would gladly use it and give him credit for it. In the past, vito has helped us a lot in development of several projects and I am grateful to him.

You would understand all this better if you ever did the hard work needed to make a server. It is stupid to boycott a server just because they credited the work done by someone you don't like.

This match needs to take place before the Finals, so we can conclude the event on the grand finale.

@Fercho
@LumberJack
One more match please. I know it's been a long journey, but 3rd place is an important match. Could you guys get this done without the formalities of round deadlines?

Thanks and Good luck!

Server Discussion / Re: TDW - The Demolition Wars

I'll drop my detailed review here.

Gamemode
The new server is in the same category as niche VCMP servers: Two teams, round based TDM with objectives. Though the finer aspects of gameplay are quite different from EAD, CTF or RTV. Whether, you are an objective based tryhard or a brainless DM kid, both can have plenty of fun in the game mode.

Presentation
The GUI is neat and modern looking. Sounds and Sprites used give a nice feel to the server. The custom mini-map looks good, but it hides the terrain(roads, buildings) and only shows players and objective blips, so you might feel a bit lost on the maps. There is a nice tutorial for new players which explains the game mode. The bomb planting/diffusing controls needs some getting used to, but they are convenient.

Mapping
A lot of work has been put in mapping. There is a whole lot of custom bases and even the native VC objects have been edited a lot to balance the bases(I like what you did to Kaufman cabs and Cherry Poppers). It guarantees a unique experience even if you have been VCMPing since a decade. There are a lot of bases to memorize and it will give you a big skill gap over scrubs who are wandering around lost while the regulars take shortcuts to the bomb sites.

Balance
The server is new, so will likely need more balance. Currently it feels the attackers have a big upper hand and some custom made bases are too good for Chainsaws.

Overall, I feel the server is a worthy successor for RTV.

General Discussion, Betting and FAQs / Re: VCDC 6 Central Champion: Gynla
« on: October 24, 2020, 03:02:27 pm »
From organization point of view, we got lucky with the number of EU players. There were exactly 32 participants from the central region. That is 2 to the power 5, so it was really convenient to put them in groups and knockout stages in a way that they do not fight anyone from East or West.

VCDC always carries a controversy about "lag prevailing over skills". A player's success is always debated and measured with his ping. I was glad that this time we had an all EU brackets right up to the semi-finals.

Opponents defeated:
Knockout stage: Wr*blix, [SS]jUan*, napoleon, Tic
Group stage: lilzor, [VU_R]Nyon, =RK=GOD

Those are some really tough opponents you faced. Well deserved!

HBD!

The Western region was interesting from the beginning. I remember the early group stage days, most of the west groups had already completed their matches. There was a lot of activity on the VCDC West Server, with people practicing for hours.

I observed some peculiar habits of the players in this region. They regularly practice duels with the opponent they are about to face before the official match. That seemed really strange to me, since the rest of the world usually keep their tactics and strength a secret from their opponents.
Also, during the match they share tips and exchange comments like a Japanese anime fight. They were all in Spanish so I didnt understand much, but it was really different from East server's rapid "r" in the chat.

Would have been interesting to see some more top Western players in the event. Danniel and Lederhos are notable top notch fighters that were missing  >:(

Fercho, this is well deserved my man!. It's a mammoth task to be this consistent and at the top of your game for so many matches. VCDC knockout's are never easy. Anyone could have a bad day, succumb to pressure or throw a game. You have been a solid presence in several VCDC season's so far.
Congrats and best of luck for the Semis!  O0
