Title: Zegro's Python Cup
Post by: Zegro on June 14, 2011, 10:03:14 pm
not exactly a challenge, but here.

Zegro's Python Cup
(https://viceunderdogs.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi53.tinypic.com%2F2mf17b5.png&hash=8cea37318a6dd1cc4a079d0391ef96e3448fbd07)

I've always considered python to be one of the most skilled weapons to use, it is an instant hit weapon, has no spread and does the damage of an m60 without the same firing speed. This means 3 shots are needed to kill someone without armour and 5 shots with armour, and there is no knockdowns, one lucky shot won't make you win.

I also think fighting is a lot more intense if there are obstacles in the way, this is why I chose locations to fight at for each stage as opposed to some open-ass roof.

=======
LOCATIONS

#1 (quarter finals) - The airport. Do not leave through the exit's metal detectors. If you leave through them I'll assume it was intentional and you'll lose points instantly as it's pretty hard to 'accidentally' do it. one player should start on one side of the airport and the other player should start on the other. it doesn't matter which side so much but if you guys can't decide, then whoever is at the top of your bracket will start on the west side.
XE: locations
 /c gotoloc python1A + /c gotoloc python1B

#2 (semi finals) - Ammunation back firing range. Do not leave through the exits at where each of you will start
http://i55.tinypic.com/2rhwjuw.png
The left door is for the top of the bracket, right for the bottom, but if you guys don't care it doesn't matter too much.
/c gotoloc python2 (this is an interior so I can't set either spawn, you will need to walk in and go to the left and right doors.)

#3 (finals) - Cortez's underground carpark Do not leave the carpark. I won't state where the boundaries are because it should be obvious enough not to walk too close to the exit.
/c gotoloc python 3A + /c gotoloc python3B

==========

One thing I didn't want was for random noobs to sign for this as I am only going to make the first run of this tournament 8 slots. I first thought I'd just accept some people and decline others but then realised that would be a bit harsh. So instead, I decided on a rule that would work reasonably well.

You must have participated in 2 of these past events to play:
• ULK Open Challenge
• VCDC
• VCDC #2
• Vice Ladder
• VCCT
• Vice-War

I'll make special exceptions if you talk to me and I know you as a regular etc etc

==============

RULES
1) Python only of course.
2) All glitches are allowed, with the exception of map glitching. with only a python you cannot slide and no-fall won't help so there's the 2 main gamebreakers avoided and fighting is much more intense with all crouchglitching allowed
3) You can either play without armour in best of 5, or with armour in best of 3. if you cannot agree then you will play best of 5 without armour
4) Pinglimit 200, with a higher amount of players I might raise this but for 8 people there's no need for a huge number
5) You can agree on fighting in a different area, but please do not fight on some open roof or in a big empty space, that ruins some of the fun
6) if a player accidentally leaves the area, you must restart the fight with the same hp as you ended with. if this happens twice to the same player then it's -1 point to the player that left twice.
7) if a player intentionally leaves the area, he automatically gives 1 point to the enemy.
8) if you do not 'trust' your opponent not to be a complete dick then ask for someone to spectate (IE: me, I'm always on gtanet. /query zegro)[/color]
9) you can fight at any server, if an interference happens, you restart with the hp you had before the interference

for anyone who wants to check, there'll be a video there somewhere^, remove the space. I didn't set my screen resolution properly for broadcasting so you can't even read it but I can't redraw just because you can't see. I read it out in my hot voice anyway
