New Administration System
« on: March 26, 2020, 06:42:06 pm »

This edition we will be innovating a new administration system. If it works well, we might see the implementation in future events and other servers.

Traditionally, when a player reports another player, it sends a text message to the staff channel. Then it is up to the available staff to check up that report and act accordingly. The shortcomings of the old system were:
  • Lazy staff ignores reports, while a diligent staff member gets overloaded with it.
  • Staff don't take ownership of reports and think that someone else will handle it. Sometimes, no-one does.
  • Reporter gets no acknowledgement that the report is being looked into.
  • There is no way to track reports, multiple offenders and staff performance.

New System
The new system is report oriented. Every time, you /report a player, it opens a case with a unique ID. If an admin is available and not already working on another case, the case will be assigned to the admin.
Code: [Select]
Report ID: [0] PlayerA reported PlayerB for 'reason'. Assigned to: AdminAor
Code: [Select]
Report ID: [0] is awaiting admin assignation. No admin is currently idle
The assigned admin is takes full ownership of the report and has to acknowledge it that they are dealing with it, using a Hotkey. By using this Hotkey they acknowledge the report and taken into spectate view.
Code: [Select]
Report ID: [0] AdminA has acknowledged your report and is investigating the case. The Staff is provided with a GUI Panel and hotkeys to quick-punish the player or discard the report. This allows them to act on the report within seconds.
Code: [Select]
Report ID [0] has been handled by admin AdminA
PlayerB has been kicked by AdminA for 'reason'
or
Code: [Select]
Your report has been discarded by AdminA due to unsuitable evidence.

This comes with benefits:
  • Equal distribution of workload between staff
  • Scripted tools for faster staff response. Ban hammers in 2 key strokes, yes.
  • The player is communicated about staff acknowledgement, availability and action taken.
  • Post event stats about staff performance in administration.
