Explanation

Hello everyone, today I'd like to make something public. Something important which I think everyone should know about. It is important for people (more importantly server staff members) to know this tool exists and it's being used and distributed. I'm talking about a tool/program that some people of this community use to give them an advantage by modifying their mouse sensitivity settings. This tool is a .dll that is injected into the game and through the use of an additional .ini file, you configure your mouse's individual X and Y axis aswell as zoom sensitivity.

So why is this a big deal? For those not aware, VC:MP 0.4 used to have an option on the config file that allowed players to do this same thing. Individually adjust their mouse's X and Y axis. This allowed players to have for instance, super high sensitivity for horizontal mouse navigation, but low sensitivity vertical mouse navigation and viceversa. A long time ago, VC:MP Devs decided to remove this option and added another option that allows players to adjust their sensitivity proportionally for both the X and Y axis, instead of individually. Therefore leveling the playing field for all players. This means the players would no longer be able to adjust their mouse's X and Y axis individually.

If you didn't bother to read the logs above, I'll make it simple for you:

Usage of this tool : Sevrin and slow (210W)
Distribution of this tool: UJIbU4 and slow (210W)

Those are 2 banable ofenses in my book. I know for some of you this is somewhat of a grey area, but that is only the fault of servers for their inaction towards these matters. I know some servers will take no action on this due to having a biased staff team and also since the servers in this community prioritize playercount over fairness which is just sad. I'd rather my server be empty or die than conforming to a community where things like this are apparently okay.

Here's my reply to whoever will reply with the following flawed logic:

Q: "Why would adjusting X and Y axis individually ever be considered cheating?"
A: Because it was expressively removed by VC:MP devs, other players don't have access to this functionality, but the users of this tool do. If your opinion is that players should be able to edit their X and Y axis that's fine, but that's not how things are at the moment. So you should act accordingly to how things are (also known as reality) and not how you think things should be.


Conclusion (TL;DR)

So let's recap:

• VC:MP Devs remove the option to adjust the mouse's X and Y axis individually
• Players find a tool to inject a .dll into their game that allows them to use the same options (and more) that the VC:MP devs expressively removed
• Users of this tool now have access to functionalities that other (clean) players don't, putting them at an advantage

good work newk and btw i also find this cheating cause players in vw had to play clean not changing sensitivities individually. While users of this tool used it to have slow vertical axis and a fast horizental one.

believe me i know that doing this makes it much easier to get headshots since u can spray m4 fast horizentally if player is running but u will have a good sensitivity which will make u aim his head easier vertically

Concerning this problematic, Let us analyze all this together:

What is the root of the misunderstanding?
It is simply a .dll (or .ini) file installed in the directory containing the game and which would allow such a player to change some parameters linked in a direct way to the operation of the mouse during the course of the game.

Seeing us things from several perspectives:

The first: does this file really add value? In my opinion I think not at all, because according to what I observed on the logs this file is only a tool containing original values ​​of the game and by small changes in these values we can easily complete the goal what makes the file never calls to an intervention of an external software or any thing that has no relation with the game ... consequently, it is from game to game And this finaly is never counted as a cheating.

The second perspective: it would be a serious injustice to these players if we take into account players with heavy equipment, I distinguish here gamers with gaming mice, who with the opportunities given to them, may indirectly have this .dll (Or .ini) file without really owning it (I note well here the drivers of these mice that from, you can really adjust a lot of things).

The third perspective: why can we not include this in the area of ​​the faults committed by the developers, the fact of locking this option. I find this awkward as many of us find. Really i feel a nostalgia to the previous versions in which we had the ability to play easily without any restrictions, this version really gives the game  a taste of bitter . This is not an egoist opinion, ask the question to others to understand, especially the OLD SCHOOL'z.



P.S: According to my very little knowledge of the kind of people who walk around the community these days, I can confidently say that the majority of you, even pretestants, use this kind of method...You want to make a change, start with yourself
