and sorry but I kinda like this

What a song, had not heard this one in ages.. Silver Side Up is one of the first rock albums I remember buying in my early youth and you could say it's partly the reason I got into rock music in the first place. Can't say I'm a fan of all the stuff they've made though but this is definitely Nickelback at their best.

And I read JFK ;D

Wonderful stuff though, full of interesting details. What I liked most was the laid back atmosphere and more importantly the authentic feel it has, nothing they did came out forced or constrained. Which one is which though? The guy with the white shirt was phenomenal, a real multi-talent for sure.

So basically this following song is about the five stages of grief (also known as the Kübler-Ross model) wherein a person who's lost someone close goes through the stages of denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. The song captures that very cycle brilliantly and together with the video it's just freaking powerful. It's 10 minutes long but I urge you to sit down, put on your headphones and just fully focus on everything you see and hear. If you've ever been through these stages, you'll know exactly what I mean..

Could you imagine the final sound as a gun? Or the smashing windscreen of a car?
Did you ever imagine the last thing you'd hear as you're fading out.. was a song?

People writing songs that voices never share
And no one dare.. Disturb the sound of silence

The original version of the song is not on YouTube due to copyright infringement. Here's a partial vocal isolation instead. 1969, no pitch correction. Oh boy..

Music / Re: Epic/Orchestral/Soundtrack Megathread

Great topic Knucis!

My favorite epic composers include James Horner, Howard Shore, John Williams, James Newton Howard, Ennio Morricone, who I saw perform with his orchestra last november and most notably Hans Zimmer, whose live show I was also privileged to see just last month. The latter was one of the most incredible live concerts I've been to and I've been to many. It was an overwhelming experience to see over 60 people on the stage that night, people who have perfectly mastered their instruments and they're able to create stunning harmonies and rhythms with such preciseness and feel and they're right there sending it straight to you. Combined with spectacular visuals and with one of the greatest rock guitarists of our era Guthrie Govan on the stage, I loved every second.

Now some of my favorites:

Hans Zimmer:

Howard Shore:

James Horner:

Jeremy Soule:

Megathread indeed O0

Milestone of 100 posts, check!

Ironically, I'm pretty sure I actually created this forum on Charley's behalf back in 2009. This list seems to agree with my memory. I think I ran the forum for just a few months until Charley decided to start sending out tons of forum newsletters to all e-mails the members registered here with and that resulted in my web-hosting account getting suspended.. ;D That's when I guess Thijn took a catch of the database and moved it over to VRocker's hosting. Good times :police:

but at least the shotgun sync in 0.3z was bearable and not nearly as inconsistent as in 0.4. First things first.......
^ 90% of the reason why 0.3z players complain about 0.4
Utilization of shotguns has always been the core element of VC-MP combat and thus their sync is essential for making the gameplay experience enjoyable. After playing with decent shotgun sync for half a decade, it's just frustrating seeing it go for the worse. Most 0.3z players can relate to this and that's why they complain - and they're well justified to.

Because of pretty much the same reasons Charley just mentioned, 0.3z is my number one as well. I basically grew up with it and that's the era my best VC-MP memories are from. And I loved the rough visual look 8)

Some people may say that 0.3z was all stubby-based and that it lacked depth and diversity in terms of both features and combat in comparison to 0.4 and to an extent I do agree, but at least the shotgun sync in 0.3z was bearable and not nearly as inconsistent as in 0.4. First things first.......
